Get involved with the Olympics!
People and businesses across Cornwall are being invited to get involved in preparations for the Olympic Torch Relay in May 2012. With just over four months until the torch sets off from Land's End, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase the very best Cornwall has to offer to the world.
Lit in Greece, the Olympic Flame arrives in the UK on 18 May 2012. As it makes its way across the UK on a 70-day journey it will bring the excitement of the Games to everyone. The route has been planned so that the Flame will come within an hour of 95 percent of people in the UK and enable communities to focus on the very best in their area.
The Relay will travel through Cornwall to Plymouth, where the first of the evening celebrations will take place. In Cornwall, the Relay will pass through 20 communities on route including; Land's End, Sennen, Newlyn, Penzance, Marazion, Rosudgeon, Ashton, Breage, Helston, Falmouth, Truro, Newquay, St Stephen, St Austell, Stenalees, Bugle, Lanivet, Bodmin, Liskeard and Saltash.
